Episode 23: Vampires of New England

Here be monsters! Throughout the 1800s, small farming communities fell victim to what they believed to be frequent attacks from undead relatives come to drain their blood. What they mistook for a vampire problem was really a tuberculosis problem, and in their attempts to stop the spread of the vampire scourge, they would result to drastic and gruesome measures.
